Jameson P. Murray

ABOUT

Jameson P. Murray (he/him) is a bold visionary screenwriter, playwright, director, and producer whose work has been recognized and produced across the country, with publications reaching international audiences. Murray is a 2025 Sundance Trans Possibilities Fellow and a 2024 Disruptors Fellow, honored for his work in television and screenwriting. He is a filmmaker recognized by the Kids in the Spotlight Film Awards, BULA’s 48-Hour Film Festival, and the NAACP ACT-SO Competition. His films have screened nationally at the Pan African Film Festival, Festival of Cinema NYC, and Urban 360 Fest Orlando. He is currently working in a variety of production roles, including serving as 1st Assistant Director on World Cup commercials produced by NBCUniversal’s Telemundo.

Alongside his filmmaking, Murray is known for his play development. His play The More The Man, developed with Fresh Ink Theatre, is now published in Methuen Drama’s Book of Trans Plays by Trans Playwrights, Vol. III. He has written for Yours Truly Creative, The Theater Offensive, and Kids in the Spotlight. His play Where The Black Boys Are (developed with The Theater Offensive) was recognized as part of Boston’s 2025 Trans Day of Remembrance ceremonies amidst anti-trans legislature. Murray trained at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts, and Boston University. He continues to shape his multi-hyphenate, artistic advocacy through writing, directing, theatre, and film.
